Acid Dream
Painting 41
For this painting I wanted to do something really weird and abstract. I just sort of did whatever
I wanted and there was no theme to this one.

Fruit Basket
Painting 42
This was the very first painting I ever did. I think I was in 6th grade at the time. I didn't
know what to paint so I asked people for ideas. Someone told me to do a still life painting using fruit so I tried it.

Xmas Ornaments
Painting 43
This is a project I did for my art class at UMass Lowell. My teacher told us to draw a still
life scene with six different objects. One object had to be a glass, and one object had to be metallic. I used a
shot glass and a ballberring. The dear in the middle is a Christmas ornament that my mom used for our Xmas tree that winter.

|
Skull N Crossbones
Painting 44
This was another school project. For this one we had to draw pieces of wood and a skull. I thought
that was kind of weird at the time but I needed the practice so I tried it.
|

|
Paper Bags
Painting 45
This is another school project. My teacher was teaching us about drawing different shapes.
We also learned about shading using charcoal and pencil.
|

|
The Statue I
Painting 46
This is another school project. Here we were studying the human form. This is a copy of a statue.
My teacher made us all draw this to practice doing people and body sketches.
|

|
Nude Male Portrait
Painting 47
I took an art class at UMass Lowell. One of our assignments was to draw a nude male portrait.
This project was supposed to teach us how to draw the human form.
|

|
The Statue II
Painting 48
This is another statue I did for class. This one only had a torso to draw. It was supposed to
be a broken greek statue of some god. It came out okay but you can't see it too well in this picture.
|

|
Duracell Battery And A Shot Glass
Painting 49
For this one, my teacher told us to draw a shot glass and two duracell batteries. Drawing the
glass was interesting because we had to use chalk to show the light highlight off the glass. I like the contrast between light
and dark in this one.
|

|
Ivory Soap I
Painting 50
For this one we had to draw 2 bars of Ivory soap. Then we had to use watercolors to shade the
soap. I'm not a big fan of watercolors. I prefer oils, but it was fun trying a new technique to learn.
|

|
Lemon
Painting 51
This is another school project. For this one we had to draw a lemon up close. My teacher wanted
us to draw the ripples of the lemon. We used this techneque called "cross hatching" to show the bumps on the lemon. You can't
tell from this picture, but the cross marks are there.
|

|
Paper Bags II
Painting 52
Here is a practice sketch of some brown paper bags. Again, more training on shapes and shading
objects.
|

|
Ivory Soap II
Painting 53
Here is another one of Ivory Soap. This one has 3 bars of soap stacked on top of each other.
It's tough to see from this picture because the lines are too light, but that's what I was trying to draw anyway.
|

|
Hawaii III
Painting 54
I wanted to do another scene of Hawaii because I loved it there so much. I wish I could live
there. Anyway, for this one I wanted to do a really colorful sky with bright auqa water crashing into the rocks. I really
like how the sky turned out for this one with the red.

|
Uncle John's Favorite
Painting 55
I did this one for my Uncle John when I was like 10 years old. He told me he liked ocean scenes
so I tried to make one for him. It didn't come out that great but it was my first seascape.
|

|
Cape Cod III
Painting 56
Here is another seascape of Cap Cod. I like how the lighthouse came out on this one. I'm starting
to get better at ocean scenes but I need more practice. The big wave in the front is what people seem to like about seascapes.
|

|
Bright Autumn Day
Painting 57
Here is another fall scene that I did. For this one, I wanted to really show how bright the autumn
leaves can be when the sun shines down on the trees. This is supposed to be a warm day in early October when the folliage
is at it's peak.
|

|
A Lazy Winter Afternoon
Painting 58
I did this painting for my Uncle Chris in Buffalo. He wanted one of my paintings so I thought
it would be cool to do a winter scene for him. Buffalo gets alot of snow in the winter and I figured this scene would tie
in to that idea.
|

|
Down By The River I
Painting 59
For this one, I wanted to do a river scene. I made the river go back and forth like a snake.
I also added a berch tree in the front to give the painting more detail. This is supposed to be a rainy day by the river.
|

|
Down By The River II
Painting 60
This is another version of the river scene. I used a different set of colors, but the idea is
the same. In this version it's an autumn river theme.
